Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Everything on this page sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not instead of them. Nothing here limits or replaces those rights.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These guarantees apply to discounted and clearance items exactly as they apply to full-price items. Where a product is faulty, we pay return freight — you are never out of pocket for our fault.
Change of mind — 30 days
We accept change-of-mind returns for 30 days from delivery or collection, which is more than the law requires. To be eligible the item must be:
- Unused and uninstalled, in the condition you received it
- In its original, undamaged packaging with all parts and fittings
- Accompanied by your order number or proof of purchase
Change-of-mind returns are at our discretion on clearance and run-out lines, because we cannot always replace that stock. Ask us before you buy if you are unsure — we would rather tell you up front.
Return freight for change of mind is at your cost, and the original delivery charge is not refunded. This does not apply to faulty goods.
A restocking fee of 15% of the purchase price applies to change-of-mind returns. It covers collection, inspection, repackaging and returning the item to saleable stock, and is deducted from your refund. This fee does not apply to faulty goods, items that are not as described, or any other failure of a consumer guarantee — in those cases you receive a full refund and we pay the return freight.
Items we cannot accept back
- Toilet seats, once the packaging is opened, on hygiene grounds
- Items that have been installed, modified, or cut to fit
- Items damaged after delivery for reasons that are not our fault
- Items missing parts, fittings or original packaging
- Special-order and made-to-measure items, where we tell you at the time of order
None of these exclusions apply where the item is faulty. A faulty product is covered by the consumer guarantees above regardless of packaging or time elapsed, within a reasonable period for that kind of product.
How to start a return
Do not send anything back before contacting us — returns without a return authorisation can go astray, and we will send you the correct return address once your return is approved.
- Email info@bathroomdeals.au or call 0405 804 900 with your order number and what is wrong
- Send photographs if the item is faulty or arrived damaged — it usually saves a collection
- We issue a return authorisation and the return address
- Pack the item securely in its original carton and send it with a tracked service
Please do not return goods to the manufacturer.
Damaged in transit
Inspect your delivery before you sign for it. If the packaging is crushed, torn or wet, note it on the consignment note and photograph it before unpacking.
Report transit damage within 48 hours of delivery so we can lodge a claim with the carrier. We will repair, replace or refund at no cost to you. Freight claims become difficult to win after that window, which is why we ask quickly rather than to make it hard.
Refunds
Once your return arrives and we have inspected it, we email you to confirm receipt and tell you whether the refund is approved.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within five business days of that email. How long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer, and is outside our control — typically another three to five business days.
If a refund has not appeared after ten business days, contact your bank first, then email us with your order number and we will trace it.
Warranty claims
Warranty periods vary by brand and product — cartridge, finish and labour cover are listed on each product page. A warranty claim is not the same as a return: the product stays with you until we assess it.
Email info@bathroomdeals.au with your order number, photographs, and a description of the fault. Most claims are resolved without the product coming back.
Warranties cover manufacturing defects. They do not cover damage from incorrect installation, abrasive or chemical cleaners, water quality issues, or normal wear. Fixtures must be installed by a licensed plumber for warranty cover to apply — that is a condition of the manufacturers’ warranties, and in most of Australia it is also the law.
Still need help?
Email info@bathroomdeals.au or call 0405 804 900 during business hours. If something has gone wrong we would rather hear about it early.
If we cannot resolve a dispute, you can contact the ACCC at accc.gov.au or your state consumer affairs body — in Queensland, the Office of Fair Trading.
Something not right with your order?
